Latest News BTOM - EU Import Requirements

EU Import Requirements effective 31st January 2024 (POAO & HRFNAO)

Published: 31st January 2024

31st January 2024 marks the first major implementation phase of the Border Target Operating Model (BTOM).

Health certification will now be required on imports of medium risk animal products, plants, plant productions and high-risk food (and feed) of non-animal origin from the EU.

From 31st January 2024 all EU imports subject to official controls must be notified via IPAFFS. On your declaration you are required to upload any commercial documentation (Packing list, Bill of Lading, Invoice etc.) and Health Certificate (where applicable).

Keep an eye on our EU Exit section as this will be updated in the coming days with more information to help guide you through the new requirements.

We also have an EU Exit Enquiry form available if you require any specific guidance on products coming to the UK from the EU. We aim to reply to these queries by the next working day.
