How to obtain an export health certificate

Food and feed manufacturers and exporters may need export health certificates to export products of animal origin to countries outside of the European Community (EC), commonly referred to as third countries.

How do I obtain a certificate?

A template certificate may already be available for the type of product and country you want to export to.

If a certificate template is not available, contact the relevant country's Embassy or Consulate, as well as the importer, to find out about any specific import conditions. 

Other import conditions may also be required depending on the country. The Animal and Plant Health Agency can provide further information regarding specific export conditions. You can contact:

When you submit an application for an export certificate please notify us using our general enquiries form.

How much are export charges?

Our export charges stand at £105.00 for the first hour, £40.00 per additional hour.
