Due to COVID 19 working arrangements it has been determined that ship sanitation certificates will be issued in an electronic format and based on sufficient provision of correct documentation by the vessel.
Please be aware; wherever possible we require a notice period of 5 working days from the day the Ship Sanitation renewal is requested, in order to issue the certificate. Where this notice period is not achievable, we require as much notice as reasonably practicable. This is due to current working arrangements and any follow up which may be required from reviewing the documents provided.
Unfortunately, this also means routine water sampling has been suspended for the foreseeable future.
Once the UK Government lockdown policy is eased, water sampling inspections will be reviewed in line with Mersey Port Health Authority work based risk assessments. Please check www.mersey-pha.gov.uk for the latest updates.
The list of documentation you have provided will allow the ship sanitation certificate to be processed and issued subject to officer checks
